Deed of ChallengeThe official Deed of Challenge was signed by the Challenger (Princeton Burrs) and the Defender (Columbia Hamiltons) at the annual challenge ceremony on April 24, 2014.
The Deed commits the two parties to a duel on the Hudson River on or around September 6, 2014 and to undertake such arrangements as necessary to effect the contest. Team Captains and their Seconds executed the documents, witnessed by over forty members of both sides. Several exhibition matches ensued, with the Burrs winning the contest to fill their team with paid-up Duelists and the Hamiltons winning the contest to subscribe the most donors of philanthropic time (commitments to speak at public after-school programs). Reportedly, a good time was had by all. |
